Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) and Oak Ridge Institute for Science Education (ORISE) have a long history of collaborating and developing high quality research programs aimed at the early engagement of students to enrich their high school science and math experience.
ORNL and ORISE are continuing this partnership with the Next Generation STEM Internship Program (NEXTGENS). NEXTGENS affords rising juniors and seniors from high schools and accredited home school programs in Anderson, Blount, Knox, Loudon and Roane counties the opportunity to participate in STEM or STEM-related projects with researchers at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL).
Selected applicants will participate beginning June 1 through July 24, 2020. Students are expected to participate 40 hours per week. A maximum of five days (without stipend) may be missed during the appointment period, if necessary, for other commitments.
