A fellowship opportunity is available in the Division of Laboratory Sciences (DLS) within the National Center for Environmental Health (NCEH) at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). DLS develops and applies laboratory science to prevent disease and death caused by exposure to toxic substances, and to improve the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of selected chronic diseases.
Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, the selected participant will use state-of-the-art equipment to address topics relevant to public health. Opportunities may include:
This program, administered by ORAU through its contract with the U.S. Department of Energy to manage the Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education, was established through an interagency agreement between DOE and CDC. The appointment is full-time for one summer (May 25 to August 5, 2016) at CDC in the Atlanta, Georgia, area. The participant will receive a monthly stipend commensurate with educational level and experience. Proof of health insurance is required for participation in this program. Participants do not become employees of CDC or the program administrator, and there are no fringe benefits paid.
