DNPAO’s Physical Activity and Health Branch supports population based approaches for active living to reduce population burden of chronic disease and improve and enhance health and the quality of life.  To meet this goal, the Branch conducts surveillance and epidemiologic research, translation and evaluation activities on topics such as transportation and community design planning and promoting increased physical activity in various key venues.  The Branch is dedicated to understanding and promoting physical activity, especially walking.

The selected participant will help research, synthesize and translate the evidence on social, environmental and policy strategies related to the process of updating the 2008 Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans.
