An ORISE fellow will conduct literature research, analysis, and coordination with U.S. Department of Health & Human Services Operating Divisions (OPDIVs) to improve the reporting of data related to prevention, care, treatment, and social issues affecting women and girls living with, or at risk for HIV and Viral Hepatitis.

The fellow may be involved in the following activities:

  • Documenting federal programs and activities, including those funded by the Secretary’s Minority AIDS Fund, targeting women (including transwomen) and girls.
  • Reviewing surveillance, scientific, and other reports from HHS OPDIVs and Office of the Secretary Staff Divisions to assess inclusion of women and girls and reporting on data specific to women (including transwomen) and girls.  To be followed by identifying gaps and making recommendations for improvement.

The Fellow will participate in a team environment in the Office of HIV/AIDS and Infectious Disease Policy (OHAIDP), with day-to-day supervision and principal mentoring provided by the (acting) Deputy Director (OHAIDP).
