Two fellowship opportunities are currently available in the Office of Public Health Preparedness and Response (OPHPR), at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Atlanta, Georgia.

The Incident Management Training and Development Program (IMTDP) is aimed at strengthening CDC's response capability by preparing, over time, a cadre of CDC response leaders. The ORISE Fellow will support IMTDP staff in developing a comprehensive training program for CDC response leaders who lead during an Incident Management System activation.

The fellow may have the opportunity to be involved in the following opportunities:

  • Collecting, analyzing, interpreting and communicating training data.
  • Conducting content research as part of the curriculum development process. Reviewing and analyzing relevant data and communicating findings to multiple audiences, including senior leadership and executive management.
  • Assisting in the development of curriculum and processes that support a public health emergency response, including training tool(s) development.
  • Supporting IMTDP staff in their training and program evaluation by developing evaluation plan, analysis plan, and reporting following each training that is conducted by the IMTDP staff.
  • Support IMTDP staff in various communication efforts, including weekly opportunities to update leadership, internal articles, presentations, and scientific publications.

Assignments are designed to provide training and experience on the methods and techniques of creating and implementing research projects.
