Description

The U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command’s Chemical Biological Center (CCDC-CBC) serves as the Department of Defense's primary technical organization for non-medical chemical and biological defense and provides an extraordinary capability against emerging biological and chemical threats by merging intelligence assessments with its world-renowned expertise. We provide a unique blend of distinguished scientists and engineers to research and analyze the emerging threats and technological advances.

This project will consist of modernizing several of CCDC's CBC Engineering Directorate's surety and non-surety 30 year old plus aging infrastructure and laboratories to meet the advances in today's testing and improve the comfortability of the scientists.

The participant will take part in reviewing architectural drawings, providing comments to HVAC installations and components, conduct walk arounds with government personnel to ensure electrical, mechanical and architectural systems are working after installation has been completed. This opportunity will provide the valuable insight on federal regulation and policies and federal processes used to ensure compliance. Under the guidance of a mentor, the participant will obtain numerous education benefits from their experience such as:

  • Developing project management charts
  • Performing configuration management
  • Interpreting architectural drawings and how to install new ductwork and other HVAC components
