ORNL MantaPoole Technologies Engineer Post-Master's Research Associate
Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) is the largest U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) science and energy laboratory, conducting basic and applied research to deliver transformative solutions to compelling problems in energy, environment, and security.
MantaPoole Technologies is a light field / 3D-imaging startup within the Innovation Crossroads program at ORNL. We are seeking a Post-Master's Research Associate that will focus on the development and design of the embedded systems in the advanced light field / 3D-camera we are developing. The Research Associate will help design the embedded system electronics, program a Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA), and design a device driver.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Demonstrated ability to implement digital design on a FPGA using a hardware description language.
- Understanding of programming environments like Windows and Linux.
- Ability to implement and understand Simulation Program with Integrated Circuit Emphasis (SPICE) simulations.
- Experience in utilizing programming languages like C, C++, Python.
- Understanding of device drivers.
- Competence in PCB Design and Layout.
Candidates should have completed or currently be pursuing a master's degree.

The ORNL Post-Master’s Research Associate Program is administered by Oak Ridge Associated Universities through its contract with DOE to manage the Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (ORISE).
