This position will present the intern with the opportunity to support the ORAU Organizational Culture team. The ORAU Organizational Culture team conducts culture evaluations at Department of Energy nuclear sites. The intern will learn how to analyze quantitative and qualitative survey data and interpret the results. The intern will gain experience in project management and disseminating scientific data to lay audiences. The intern will also learn to how to construct valid and reliable surveys to address customer needs.

The intern will gain experience in developing Institutional Review Board (IRB) applications, to include developing protocols for survey administration, focus groups, and interviews, and responding to reviewer questions. This opportunity will have a weekly stipend starting at $900. 

What will I be doing?

  • Using statistical software to analyze numerical safety culture data
  • Using proven methods to analyze and interpret qualitative data from DOE workers
  • Working with safety culture team members to develop recommendations to improve safety culture at Department of Energy sites.

Qualifications

Pursuing or recent graduate with at least a Graduate degree in Biostatistics, Public Health, Industrial and Organizational Psychology, or Engineering discipline with a minimum of 3.0 GPA.

  • Degree: Master's Degree received within the last 60 months or currently pursuing.
  • Minimum Overall GPA: 3.00
