The Joint Science and Technology Institute for Students (JSTI-HS) is a two-week, fully-funded, residential STEM research program for current high school students in the United States and Department of Defense schools around the world. Students will participate in research projects mentored by Department of Defense research scientists and other subject matter experts. The purpose of the program is to inspire and encourage students to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) fields, increase STEM literacy, and expose students to the importance of STEM through hands-on, relevant research.
I certify that I am a U.S. citizen, will be at least age 15 by July 1, 2019, will be entering the 10th, 11th, or 12th grade in the 2019-2020 academic year, have a submitted reference contact’s email address on the application, am willing to follow all program and safety instructions, am able to participate in all activities for the full-program period, July 27-August 9, 2019, am able to reside on-site throughout the full program, and am attending school in the United States or a DODEA school outside the United States or am homeschooled.

Question: What is the deadline for submitting an application?
Answer: Not all opportunities have application deadlines. Some opportunities remain open until they are filled. If an opportunity has an application deadline, then it will be listed in the opportunity details or in the opportunity catalog.
