The Joint Science and Technology Institute, Albuquerque (JSTI – ABQ) is a two-week, fully-funded, residential STEM research experience for current high school students in the western United States. Students will engage in research projects mentored by Department of Defense, Los Alamos National Laboratory, and Sandia National Laboratory research scientists and other subject matter experts. The purpose of the institute is to inspire and encourage students to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) fields, increase STEM literacy, and expose students to the importance of STEM through hands-on, relevant research.
I certify that I am a U.S. citizen, will be at least age 16 by July 1, 2020, will be entering the 10th, 11th, or 12th grade in the 2020-2021 academic year, have submitted a reference contact’s email address on the application, am willing to follow all program and safety instructions, am able to participate in all activities for the full-program period, July 18-31, 2020, am able to reside on-site throughout the full program, and am attending school in AZ, CA, CO, ID, KS, MT, NE, ND, NM, NV, OK, OR, SD, TX, UT, WA, or WY.
