An undergraduate or graduate research project training opportunity is available at the Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) Office of Scientific Professional Development (OSPD).
There are various opportunities to participate in research related to the mission of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. This is a general program announcement for which you may apply, or if you have a targeted area of interest you may find more specific opportunities listed at http://orise.orau.gov/fda/applicants/current-research-opportunities.aspx.
This program, administered by ORAU through its contract with the U.S. Department of Energy to manage the Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education was established through an interagency agreement between DOE and the FDA. The initial appointment periods vary anywhere from one month to one year with renewal options, and a maximum of up to five years. Appointments can be full-time or part-time and may be renewed upon recommendation of FDA and contingent on the availability of funds. The participant will receive a monthly stipend will be commensurate with level of education and experience.
An applicant must be enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student at an accredited college or university; or have received an undergraduate or graduate degree within 5 years of the initial appointment date from an accredited U.S. college or university.
Various locations may be available across the U.S.
US citizenship, green card, Employment Authorization Document (EAD), Optional Practical Training (OPT), or Curricular Practical Training (CPT) is required. The participant does not become an FDA employee and there are no fringe benefits paid.
