The Science to Achieve Results (STAR) Fellowship Program is open to master’s and doctoral students pursuing degrees in environmental fields of study. This program encourages the development of the next generation of scientific and technical talent in the United States. Additional information about the STAR program, including recent recipients, may be found on the EPA website.
Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (ORISE) is assisting the EPA in the development of a database of faculty, researchers and professionals with demonstrated accomplishments in research areas related to the EPA’s mission. These individuals may be asked to serve as reviewers for the STAR program. ORISE will be managing the review of applications in collaboration with the EPA.
Applications being reviewed will consist of 10-15 pages including academic history, a research proposal, and three letters of recommendation. Selected reviewers will be assigned 18-20 applications to review. Application materials and review materials will be available online. Review of applications will be held via virtual panels. No travel is required. A modest honorarium for participation will also be provided.
To be eligible, reviewers must have received a doctorate degree in an environmental field of study.
