U.S. EPA Opportunity
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Environmental Research and Business Support Program has an immediate opening for a Toxicokinetic Support Scientist with the Office of Research and Development at the EPA’s Research Triangle facility in Raleigh-Durham, NC.
The National Exposure Research Laboratory (NERL) supports EPA’s mission to protect human health and the environment by developing and applying innovations in exposure science. Exposure science sets the context for understanding and solving real-world problems by providing an understanding of exposure that can be integrated with hazard information to inform risk.
What the EPA project is about
Efforts in the Human Exposure Dose Modeling Branch (HEDMB) in NERL’s Computational Exposure Division focus on developing tools that can be used to estimate external exposures as well as internal doses that may result following these exposures.
What you will be doing as IVKM laboratory support
EPA is seeking a team member to provide laboratory support to the in vitro kinetics and modeling (IVKM) group in HEDMB. This team member will work with other members of the lab and ORD collaborators to generate chemical toxicokinetic data that will be used in high-throughput toxicokinetic (HTTK) modeling, a critical tool in chemical safety efforts that may be used in conjunction with high-throughput screening (HTS) data to inform chemical safety assessments and regulatory decision-making.
