ORAU is continually recruiting science majors who have a passion for writing and communicating science. Are you a recent graduate (within 24 months) and have a scientific degree, and possess a background/experience in science writing and communications? The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is looking for talented science writers to communicate within the agency as well as create community-driven content showcasing EPA's activities and achievements. 

Opportunities to collaborate with teams at EPA nationwide are offered through the EPA National Student Services Contract (NSSC) managed by ORAU. These contractor positions are part of EPA’s Office of Research and Development (ORD) – the science arm of EPA!

EPA ORD supports high-quality research to improve the scientific basis for decisions on national environmental issues and helps EPA achieve its environmental goals. 

Qualifications
  • Be at least 18 years of age and
  • a recent (within the last 24 months) graduate with a Bachelor's, Master's or Postdoctoral degree in a scientific discipline, or related discipline and
  • be a citizen of the United States of America or a Legal Permanent Resident.

EPA ORD employees, their spouses, and children are not eligible to participate in this program

  • Degree: Bachelor's Degree, Master's Degree, or Doctoral Degree received within the last 24 month(s).
