A fellowship opportunity is available to support the Division of Applied Research and Technology (DART), National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), in Cincinnati, Ohio.
The fellow will assist in laboratory studies of wearable sensor technology and postural analysis through the use of an automated 12-camera system for the collection and analysis of position data for various joints and body segments. Individual may be asked to serve as laboratory subject to don sensors and marker sets and perform simulated job tasks while data is collected and afterward help with data analysis.

** Length of appointment: 2.5 months **
This program, administered by ORAU through its contract with the U.S. Department of Energy to manage the Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education, was established through an interagency agreement between DOE and CDC. The appointment may be renewed upon recommendation of CDC contingent on the availability of funds. The participant will receive a monthly stipend commensurate with educational level and experience. Proof of health insurance is required for participation in this program. The appointment is full-time at CDC in the Cincinnati, Ohio, area. Participants do not become employees of CDC, DOE or the program administrator, and there are no employment-related benefits.

Currently in graduate program pursuing Master's level degree in Human Factors, Ergonomics, Industrial Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Safety and Health or related health field.

Basic understanding of human anatomy and biomechanics in relation to the development of work-related musculoskeletal disorders.
