The Clinical Chemistry Branch (CCB) conducts research to diagnose, assess treatment efficacy, and prevent chronic and infectious diseases.

Research Project: CCB currently has multiple openings in rapidly expanding program areas including infectious diseases and protein structure. Most of the time and activities will be connected to method development and application of advanced chromatographic and mass spectrometric methods. Participants will be involved in research activities in coordination with senior PhD group members and will include conducting experiments, literature search and writing reports.

Learning Objectives: The participants will receive training and hands-on experience on advanced bioanalytical techniques, proteomic/mass spectrometry techniques, protein expression and purification in addition to CDC required safety trainings.

Mentor(s): The mentor(s) for this opportunity is Don Wang (dov2@cdc.gov). If you have questions about the nature of the research please contact the mentor(s).

Anticipated Appointment Start Date October 2022.  Start date is flexible and will depend on a variety of factors.
