The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Division of Global Migration and Quarantine (DGMQ) works to reduce morbidity and mortality among immigrants, refugees, travelers, expatriates, and other globally mobile populations, and to prevent the introduction, transmission, and spread of communicable diseases through regulation, science, research, preparedness, and response.

- Use surveillance data to inform risk assessments for the Travel Health Notices.
- Apply epidemiologic principles to investigate the burden and cause(s) of travel-related health problems and evaluate prevention measures.
- Research outcomes which impact significant travel health-related public health programs.
In this role, the fellow will have an opportunity to collaborate with medical officers, epidemiologists, and health
communicators on the team, in addition to different subject matter experts across CDC and professionals and partners
from outside CDC.
The qualified candidate should either have received a master's degree in one of the relevant fields (e.g. Public Health, Epidemiology, Biostatistics), or be currently pursuing the degree with completion by the appointment start date. Degree must have been received within the past five years.
