*IMPORTANT NOTE: On the question asking about your degree, it is assumed that middle and high school students are working toward a high school diploma. Please enter the following on the indicated questions*

  • Education Status - enter "In Progress" 
  • Degree - enter "High School Diploma/GED"
  • Institution - enter your current school name without any abbreviations
  • Dates - enter the approximate dates you began and will finish at your current school
  • GPA - enter your current GPA

Description

The ORISE Introduction to Artificial Intelligence (AI) Mini-Academy is a three-day program that introduces middle and high school students to AI and its applications. Students will engage in exciting and challenging activities over the three-day period to develop skills and knowledge that will help them grow into the technology leaders of the future. The program takes place at ORAU in Oak Ridge on June 1-3, 2026, from 9:00 am - 3:30 pm. 

Qualifications

Participants must be rising 7th - 10th grade students at the time of the program. (This is the grade level the student will be during the 2026-2027 school year)

Priority will be given to students who have not participated in the program in past years. Students who have attended this program in the past will be placed on an alternate list. Alternates will be notified as spots become available.
