About the NASA Postdoctoral Program
The NASA Postdoctoral Program (NPP) offers unique research opportunities to highly-talented scientists to engage in ongoing NASA research projects at a NASA Center, NASA Headquarters, or at a NASA-affiliated research institute. These one- to three-year fellowships are competitive and are designed to advance NASA’s missions in space science, Earth science, aeronautics, space operations, exploration systems, and astrobiology.
Description:
This opportunity includes studies of asteroids and rocky planetary bodies through analysis of meteorites and/or experiments. This work may span parent body processes, such as differentiation, metamorphism, alternation, regolith formation, and/or impact melting. This project may include collecting and analyzing geochemical data on either astromaterials or experimental products.

U.S. Lawful Permanent Residents (LPR);

This opportunity requires completion of a doctoral degree in planetary science, earth science, geology, cosmochemistry, chemistry, mineralogy, or petrology. This opportunity requires experience with geochemical and petrological analysis of samples (either terrestrial or extraterrestrial). This opportunity requires undergraduate or graduate course work in at least four of the following areas: planetary science, earth science, cosmochemistry, chemistry, mineralogy, and petrology.
