Description

The Joint Science and Technology Institute (JSTI) is inviting former participants to apply to attend the 2020 JSTI - High School Institute as an Alum. This two-week Institute is a fully- funded, residential science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) research Institute. Alumni will assist in research projects mentored by Department of Defense (DoD) research scientists and other subject matter experts and assist with other Institute activities, as assigned. Alumni are to inspire and encourage program participants to learn new skills, conduct STEM research, and to learn about current and emerging careers in STEM. Alumni will further promote and cultivate meaningful and appropriate relationships with JSTI students, staff, and researchers. 

Selected Alumni will receive a $1,000 stipend for full-time participation.

Please note that JSTI  is a non-smoking, non-vaping, and non-alcohol/illegal drug Institute. JSTI Alumni must agree to abstain from smoking, vaping, and alcohol/illegal drug use for the entire duration of the Institute and during any on-site residence, including off-hours.

Qualifications
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must be a past JSTI high school participant.
  • Must have a submitted reference to be considered. Reference requests are sent automatically from your application submission.
  • Must be willing to follow all Institute and safety instructions.
  • Must abstain from smoking, vaping and alcohol/illegal drug use for the entire duration of residence at the Institute, including off-hours.
  • Must be able to participate in all pre- and post-activities and for the full-Institute period - July 16-August 1, 2020.
  • Must be able to reside on-site throughout the full program (lodging and meals provided).
Eligibility Requirements
  • Citizenship: U.S. Citizen Only
  • Degree: Currently pursuing an Associate's Degree, Bachelor's Degree, Master's Degree, or Doctoral Degree.
  • Overall GPA: 3.00
