Description

A learning opportunity is available in the Office of Technology and Innovation (OTI) within the Office of the Associate Director for Science (OADS) at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Atlanta, Georgia.

The candidate will have the opportunity to learn to:

  • Understand how design thinking can create opportunities for innovation at CDC
  • Establish collaborations to advance research and to advance development of new research resources and new products to benefit public health
  • Promote development and commercialization of CDC’s scientific research to private sector partners.
  • Collaborate with CDC program offices to develop a culture of innovation
  • Engage in training and outreach efforts with other Innovation partners
  • Explain how innovation can help facilitate solutions to public health challenges

** Desired Start Date:   September 14, 2018 **

This program, administered by ORAU through its contract with the U.S. Department of Energy to manage the Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education, was established through an interagency agreement between DOE and CDC. The initial appointment is for one year, but may be renewed upon recommendation of CDC contingent on the availability of funds. The participant will receive a monthly stipend commensurate with educational level and experience. Proof of health insurance is required for participation in this program.
